CD 180,00 KčRising like a foul gas from the reeking swamps of Virginia, the writhing, gore-soaked newborn known as HUMAN CORPSE ABUSE has delivered its first crushing volley in the form of Xenoviscerum, a 12-song album that both seamlessly and disgustingly merges the heaviest elements of goregrind, powerviolence, death metal, d-beat, and punk. Written and recorded in the basement studio of guitarist/bassist/vocalist Shelby Lermo (Vastum, Ulthar), Xenoviscerum receives an infusion of pummeling brutality in the form of drum performances by Adam Jarvis (Pig Destroyer, Misery Index, Lock Up), captured at Developing Nations Studio in Baltimore by master engineer Kevin Bernsten. Weaving between themes of horrific, mutated creatures, mind-altering occultism, and Cronenbergian body horror as it careens from blasting, screeching grind to thunderous stomp to twisted guitar bombing and back, the album culminates in the pit-annihilating, mid-tempo march of “We Are All In Hell”, which features guest vocals from Nails frontman Todd Jones. Mastering comes via Greg Wilkinson at the legendary Earhammer Studios in Oakland, CA, a fitting final flourish to one of the year’s ugliest and most unique debuts.

Deconsecration creeps from the infernal pits and lead the way with four slabs of (im)pure Death Metal potency, genuine sonic torment through utter grave vociferations and supreme dense riffs, whether in fast outbreaks of obscure aggression or slower and mid-tempo gashes of morbidity in the good tradition of the beasts from the dark past.
With Re-Buried, matters bifurcate into a further Brutal spectrum yet thoroughly maintaining the virulent stench and macabre aura. Carved in bashing blastbeats and striking riffs, the group’s fierceness and savagery display equal thrust on slower sections where the ominous distortion and gloomy roars portray an atmosphere of distress and creeping terror. With sheer dynamism, Re-Buried injects variation and enough hooks, effectively upholding the momentum without ever sounding repetitive or dull.

TAKAFUMI MATSUBARA – Mortalized CD
CD 180,00 KčTakafumi Matsubara played guitar in and wrote for Mortalized for a long time, and ongoing process during which it was inevitable that some songs were left off from their recordings, a fact that became a regret for Matsubara later on when they quit in 2013 After suffering a cerebral infarction a while back, during rehabilitation and working on material for his new solo album, Matsubara went back to these certain unreleased tracks, and found the determination to finalize and release them in as high quality fashion as possible. After getting all of the underground star-pedigree vocalists, who were involved in Mortalized in some capacity or the other, the line-up got completed with the inclusion of the drummers Hoonee (Banran/Mortalized) and Vijesh (Wormrot), as Matsubara felt that these individuals understand the concepts of speed and artistry, ideals that were integral aspects in Mortalized’s existence.
While his solo album was lyrically both beautiful and positive, on Mortalized, the angle needed to shift on to negative and aggressive territories, and the anger and passion provided by each of the vocalists is palpable and present throughout the EP. The six tracks are a pummeling barrage of uncompromising grindcore that flashes past you in a blink of an eye, but which you find yourself re-listening over and over again, to get those certain primal needs met.
